Tamro is expanding its logistics center in Tampere during the years 2025–2026. The logistics center will expand by approximately 3,000 m².
The pharmaceutical market and volumes have grown significantly in recent years, and this trend is expected to continue upward. Currently, nearly 55% of the medicines and health products needed in Finland pass through Tamro to hospitals, pharmacies, and retail stores. With this investment, Tamro aims to ensure that the high quality and reliability of medicine distribution to our customers remain excellent far into the future.
Tamro's logistics center in Tampere is one of the most efficient pharmaceutical distribution centers in Europe. The warehouse utilizes various types of automation, including a fully automated high-bay warehouse that is 35 meters tall. During the expansion work, the level of automation in the logistics center will be further increased. Energy efficiency and environmental considerations are taken into account at every stage of construction.
"Our logistics center has been located in Lahdesjärvi since the early 2000s, and Tampere has served us well as a location. From a transportation perspective, there are excellent connections from here to all parts of Finland," says Tamro's logistics director Aki Koskinen.
