Due to the threat of the coronavirus, we have specified and updated our risk assessments and preventive plans. A group has been set up in Tamro to manage the epidemic situation. They aim to minimize the risks that the possible epidemic causes for pharmaceutical distribution. Together with good business continuity planning, close co-operation between actors is essential for securing pharmaceutical distribution.
- Tamro has taken many preventive measures in order to decrease the impacts of the possible epidemic. With these measures, we aim at actively preventing the risk of virus infection in the operations related to pharmaceutical logistics and preparing for the possible state of emergency in a proactive manner. We evaluate and adapt the actions as the situation develops. Tamro also works closely together with authorities and other actors in the healthcare sector in order to keep an up-to-date and common understanding of the situation, says Anni Svala, Tamro’s Quality Director and Responsible Pharmacist.
Tamro’s personnel is in a key role in securing pharmaceutical distribution. We have given to our employees detailed instructions regarding hygiene and personal prevention, as well as instructed what to do in case of a possible infection or exposure to the virus. No visitors are allowed in Tamro’s logistic centres, business travel abroad has been prohibited and employees have been advised regarding personal travel.
We have prepared for the possible coronavirus epidemic also by making sure that additional workforce is available and that the transportation companies Tamro uses have made preventive plans. Furthermore, we have re-scheduled Tamro’s personnel and customer events to take place in the fall.
We will continue to monitor the development of the situation and the instructions from authorities. Currently Tamro’s pharmaceutical distribution is on the same excellent level as in normal situations.
