Tamro's parent company, the PHOENIX group, is committed to achieving carbon neutrality in its operations by 2030. Each of the 29 countries where the PHOENIX group operates is responsible for contributing to the climate goal. Tamro has developed an emission reduction roadmap for the years 2025-2029 to achieve this goal.
At Tamro, the aim is to significantly reduce energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions by optimizing energy use and improving energy efficiency.
"Achieving the goal is strongly related to the energy use of our premises. The measures in the emission reduction roadmap include optimizing building automation systems, modernising ventilation systems, and further utilising our geothermal heating system. We are also evaluating the possibility of increasing our own energy production", says Quality and Sustainability Manager Katja Toivonen.
The concrete measures selected for the emission reduction roadmap will systematically guide operations towards carbon neutrality in the coming years.
"We are committed to implementing the measures planned in the roadmap and monitoring their impacts. Implementing the emission reduction roadmap is an important step towards achieving the carbon neutrality goal and promoting sustainable development", Toivonen states.
